Annual Military & First Responder Appreciation Event “A unique opportunity to honor and appreciate the men and women in uniform that  put themselves in harm’s way”.

Unique Special Event honoring our First Responders, Police, Fire and Military

• Events were held in Orlando, FL from 2012-2016
• First 100 families receive an event tote bag filled with goodies
• Business and Non-Profit Vendor Booths available
• Motorcade  and Parade 
• Entertainment Show and Tributes

With the help and support of Semper Fidelis of America, our body of members assisted with planning, working and helping to find venues for the following events.

Purpose of the Patriotic Tribute Blog

In the past our goal was to support local veterans groups by bringing together the Veterans and the Defense Community as well as the General Public through Community Events, giving the general public an opportunity to appreciate our local/hometown heroes.

We conducted these events in Orlando, Florida with the support of local veterans groups, chambers, media sources and volunteers.


Since moving away to Washington, DC and becoming a full time military caregiver to my navy spouse at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, I am no longer able to carryout plans to execute these events in person - however, it would be my honor to recognize others throughout our great country by sharing their events, recognition and support of our nations heroes.


We encourage you to post your events and appreciation, and we will help you share them. God Bless the USA.

Military Life

My passion and support for the military began as a small child.  Most of the men in my extended family served in the military. My Grandfather was a WWII Vet and a Hero (USAAF).

We have four Marines, one Airman and six Sailors in our family.  I grew up hearing sea stories while looking through black and white photos.  A deep love for my country and those that had and continue to serve began.

My father served in the Navy and my children are in the JROTC programs in school, my oldest plans served four years in NJROTC and ended her high school career as cadet commanding officer. My youngest is active in AFROTC.  My husband is Active Duty with the US Navy.

Getting involved with the military and our veteran community can be a great experience for you and your business.  Cause Marketing is important and also is the your pride in our country and it’s servicemen and women.

I plan Military Appreciation Events (check out my Patriotic Tribute Events) and attend many military support organization or industry association events looking for businesses that will show their appreciation and may even provide Military Discounts and Services.
We feature these businesses at events in the community and work with schools (JROTC)  and recruiters and well as corporations in the Department of Defense as well as the Modeling and Simulation Industry to provide a rewarding and appreciative event.

Our Patriotic Tribute with events (community and social) will be happening throughout the year.  It is my personal and company goal to provide these patriotic events. I am looking for a team of volunteers to help us with this project.  Please contact us.

Military Caregiver Month

May is Military Caregiver Month.  I am a military caregiver myself.

This is hard work!  We are newlyweds and my husband has been in a Seriously Ill status since April 2017.

There are many wonderful non-profit programs available for caregivers. I will list a few that have been significantly involved in my husband's care.

First Puppy Road Trip

In April we celebrated my husband's birthday by visiting family and friends in Jacksonville by way of St. Augustine. This was our very first trip out of Orlando with our two new puppies:  Princess Buttercup our Puggle, and Wesley our Boxer (We have a Princess Bride theme going on, but we spelled Wesley differently).

Our trip began with a checklist and an internet search of where to stay. 
We had plans to visit Grandma for lunch in her home on Friday afternoon, in Jacksonville, Florida. Since the puppies would be too distracting and interact with the dogs in Grandma's home, we were advised not to bring our pups to the visit. 

Since we live in Orlando, we had to decide if we should make the 2 1/2 drive without them, leaving them home with our older daughters.  The pups had been sick and Wesley is recovering from pneumonia, so we didn't want to leave them behind either. The decision was made for us to leave early Friday morning to drive to Jacksonville and leave early after our lunch with Grandma and skip any other visits with friends.

To maximize our time up north on previous visits we typically stay with my husband's friends, but since they just put down hardwood floors we would not be able to stay there, in case our puppies had accidents on their new floors.

So back to the drawing board. We needed a GAME PLAN. (Love that phrase!)

My husband searched on line for "pet friendly hotels in Jacksonville." A hotel called Aloft came up in his search. He recalled seeing this hotel while visiting Jacksonville and drove past another one in Orlando previously. So he called to get the rates and details.  To his surprise they don't charge a pet fee (typically $15-$20 per pet) and their military discount was pretty significant. (About 33% discount).

Their website had details about their pet policy called, Arf!

Our trip was set!

Now we had to decide if we should pack both crates or just one and have them share. We were also concerned with space in our car. Since one of us would have to watch the dogs while the other was assembling or breaking down the crates we opted for just one and making that work for the two of them. The crate is large and adjustable.

I packed their puppy bag with toys, food, poop bags and treats. We bought collapsible water and food bowls which attach with a carabiner to our bag. I also packed a few blankets and of course, Wesley's medicine and gloves. (The medicine warning label and veterinarian told me to wear gloves when administering). My husband folded down the crate and packed the car perfectly. The crate fit just behind our front seats. As an added bonus this also prevented the puppies from trying to crawl up front while we are driving. They can still stand and look out but it is nearly impossible for them to crawl over it.

The puppies travel in a pet hammock that covers the entire back seat.  They have gotten used to this way of traveling since day #1.

The dog (baby) bag goes in the back seat with them complete with wipes, poop bags, treats and toys.

On our drive to Jacksonville we planned to stop in St. Augustine for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday.  St. Augustine is a very special place for us. Earlier in the week we called several restaurants looking for a dog policy that didn't require them to be service animals. We also used the Bring Fido app and also Yelp.  Yelp had some great reviews and photos of happy customers

My previous business model, Media that Sells, was a media buying service for small businesses that primarily chose, Place-Based Media options. (Also referred to as Out of Home Advertising).
